Are you looking for a quick and energizing way to start your day? Wake up yoga is your best choice! This 11-minute morning yoga routine will help you stretch and wake up your body, leaving you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.

11-Minute Morning Yoga Practice to Brighten Your Day:

  1. Start by sitting cross-legged on a mat with your hands on your knees. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

  2. On the next inhale, raise your arms overhead, reaching toward the sky. As you exhale, bring your arms back to your sides.

  3. Inhale and raise arms overhead again. This time, as you exhale, twist your torso to the right, place your left hand on your right knee, and place your right hand behind you. Inhale and return to center, then exhale and twist to the left.

  4. Place your hands and knees on the table in tabletop position. Inhale and arch your back, lifting your head and tailbone toward the ceiling. Exhale and circle your spine, tuck your chin into your chest, and draw your navel toward your spine.

  5. From a tabletop, step your right foot forward between your hands into a low lunge. Keeping your left knee on the ground, lift your chest up. Hold your breath for a few breaths, then switch angles.

  6. Return to the table and lift your hips into a downward-facing dog. Stretch your feet to stretch your hamstrings and calves.

  7. Step your right foot forward again into a low lunge. This time, straighten your right leg and lift your torso into a half split. Hold your breath for a few breaths, then switch angles.

  8. Return to the downward-facing dog and hold a few breaths. Lower your knees to the ground, then sit back on your heels, allowing your child to pose.

  9. From a child’s pose, come up and stand. As you inhale, raise your arms overhead. As you exhale, fold forward and touch your toes or the ground.

  10. Inhale and lift halfway, placing hands on calves and lengthening spine. Exhale and fold forward again.

  11. As you inhale, curl up one vertebra at a time to stand. Place your hands on the center of your heart and take a few deep breaths.

Great, you’ve completed your 11-minute wake-up yoga practice! Before starting the day, take a moment to enjoy the energizing effects of the practice.
